Our clinical and applied work is guided by feminist values, emphasizing care, empowerment, and collaboration. We focus on supporting individuals and communities navigating challenges shaped by gender-power dynamics.
At the university, we design and implement preventive and empowering programs for emerging adults and college students. While grounded in evidence, they are always adapted to the needs, context, and lived realities of the people we support. Our work includes workshops, seminars, and group-based programs.
In our practices, we aim to:
- Center individuals’ experiences and perspectives
- Support empowerment, agency, and resilience
- Address the impacts of social and gender-based inequities on relationships
Our main areas of applied work include:
- Dating violence prevention: We implement an 8-week group program to reduce intimate partner violence and promote safe, equitable, and mutually respectful relationships.
- Sexual violence prevention: We implement an 6-week group program, Sexuality 101, addressing sexual coercion, boundaries, and agency to support consensual and safe relationships.
- Body image support: We are developing a group program aimed at reducing body image concerns and fostering physical and emotional well-being.
We approach these programs as safe spaces for learning, reflection, support, and solidarity. Insights from applied work often inform our research, creating a reciprocal relationship between knowledge and action.
