Research at the Lab

At the Feminist Psychology Lab, we explore how gender, power, and social inequalities shape mental health, well-being, identities, and relationships.

We approach research with a commitment to feminist values and ethical engagement. Our goal is not only to produce knowledge, but to generate insights that meaningfully inform practice.

We mainly employ qualitative methods, drawing inspiration from collaborative and participatory approaches, and exploring the use of visual methods in feminist psychology.

Our current research centers on five key areas and their intersections:

  • Gender-based violence: including dating violence, sexual coercion, and other forms of sexual violence, digital violence and harassment
  • Sexualities: exploring diverse sexualities, sexual identities, sexual agency, and intimate relationships
  • Reproductive autonomy: exploring experiences, rights, and mental health impacts related to reproductive choices
  • Body image: examining how our relationships with our bodies develop and shape mental health and relationships
  • Masculinity: investigating how constructions of masculinity affect mental health and relationships, including psychotherapy
